Background

With more than 16 years of experience in tunnel, structural, and geotechnical engineering, I founded ALC Ideas to provide focused technical support for complex underground infrastructure projects.

My background includes international tunnel and infrastructure works across Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Qatar, South Africa, Indonesia, Hungary, and other markets, working with contractors and consultancies on design, numerical modelling, technical review, and automation-led engineering workflows.

ALC Ideas can support your project as a specialist external consultant or work as an extension of your existing design team, providing flexible input where additional technical capacity, independent review, numerical modelling expertise, or automation support is required.

ALC Ideas combines specialist knowledge in NATM/SCL tunnelling, underground structures, geotechnical modelling, and design automation with a practical understanding of how engineering decisions need to be documented, checked, communicated, and built.

The aim is simple: provide rigorous, defensible, and practical engineering support that helps project teams work more efficiently without compromising quality.

Working with ALC Ideas

ALC Ideas is currently a one-person practice. You work directly with me on the technical work itself — no account-management layer, no handover to juniors. Every deliverable is prepared or checked by a chartered engineer.

I typically work as an extension of your team, providing technical support, design input, or independent review. I'm comfortable working within client QA systems and adapting to project-specific requirements.

For larger projects or those needing additional specialisms, I bring in external collaborators on a case-by-case basis — scoped to the work, not a standing roster.
